D.J. contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me if I would take some photos of him proposing to his girlfriend, Lindsay! We had planned to do at a different location, but literally called a last minute audible because the original plan had a lot of grown up grass that was not expected.. But, you can never go wrong with Downtown Knoxville!

So about an hour before the big moment, D.J., one of Lindsay's friends and I had planned out where and how D.J. would ask the question. In our mind, we had a great plan. (Don't worry, everything came out okay!) She was going to walk down Union Ave downtown, and D.J. was going to be standing under the arch in Krutch Park across from Market Square. Well, Lindsay ended up driving by us trying to park! Luckily, she didn't see us! Then, I moved across the street to get a better angle, but instead of walking down Union Ave like we thought, she actually walked down Market St literally right by me. I tried to play it off by pulling my phone out and not even noticing they were there! D.J. had to move out of sight since she came down that street, it was a pretty funny moment, honestly..

After Lindsay passed me, I walked up behind them to get the shots you see above of them walking through the park. A couple apparently going to prom in August walked right in front of me and so I almost wasn't able to get any shots. I "politely" asked them to move (haha) and then I was able to get some shots!

After all the chaos, and a quick stroll through the park, D.J. and Lindsay spent a moment together and then D.J. popped the big question. She of course said yes, and then they shared a hug and some tears. Lindsay's friends were hiding a couple hundred feet away. It was awesome to be a part of this engagement and I'm thankful D.J. asked me to take some photos to remember it by.
